Command palette, mini search and various performance improvements

We focused on search for the last couple of weeks, launching two powerful tools to help you find and resurface information faster in Anara.

Our new Command Palette puts your entire workspaces at your finger tips. Click “Search” in the left sidebar or use the CMD/CTRL + K keyboard shortcut to instantly search for files, folders and various features without having to navigate through multiple menus.

We also added Mini Search to the table view. Just hit CMD/CTRL + F while viewing your library to instantly search across titles, authors, tags, and more. It's a quick way to find what you're looking for without setting up complex filters.

Beyond search, we spent time polishing the overall experience with performance improvements and bug fixes across the board.

Improvements

  • Improved file conversion speed for faster document uploads and processing.
  • Press Tab to quickly select tools and mentions while typing prompts, speeding up your workflow with keyboard-only navigation.
  • Fixed an issue that caused images in documents to take excessive time to process, ensuring faster loading and a smoother experience when working with visual content.
  • Fixed an issue where failed file uploads incorrectly counted against your monthly import limit and left unwanted files in your library.
  • Workspace owners now receive email notifications when subscription seats are added or removed, improving visibility into billing changes.
  • Improved text truncation in table cells by adding proper spacing between ellipsis and cell edges for better readability.
  • Error messages in the import queue component now display helpful tooltips that explain why an action failed and how to resolve the issue.
  • Anara now detects when you're asking similar questions repeatedly in the chat and will proactively ask for clarification to better understand what you're looking for.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where dropdown menus could extend beyond the visible screen area, making some options inaccessible.
  • Fixed an issue where text selection in the editor would sometimes unexpectedly reset after making changes, ensuring your cursor position and selections remain stable while editing.
  • Fixed issues with the subscription paywall and model selector on mobile devices, ensuring a smoother upgrade experience and proper model selection functionality.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented importing related documents and notes from the sidebar.
  • Fixed URL redirects for common pages like /docs, /terms, and /privacy that were previously failing to redirect properly.
  • Fixed an issue where the landing page could incorrectly display in dark mode instead of the intended light theme.
  • Fixed an issue where importing documents and loading chats could take several minutes, significantly improving import speed and reducing wait times.
  • Fixed an issue where default folders were incorrectly created multiple times or added to existing user accounts, ensuring each new user receives their starter folders only once.
  • Fixed an issue where chat conversations appeared older than they actually were in the sidebar due to incorrect date display.
  • Fixed an issue where website titles weren't automatically updating when importing content, ensuring imported pages now display their correct titles immediately.
  • Fixed an issue where LaTeX content copied from chat wouldn't render correctly when pasted into the editor.
  • Fixed an issue that was preventing EPUB files from being imported successfully.
  • Fixed an issue where sentence case formatting incorrectly lowercased acronyms and abbreviations in chat titles (e.g., "US" no longer becomes "Us").
  • Fixed an issue where clicking the PDF download button would download the same file twice.
  • Fixed an issue where scrolling to highlighted text would sometimes not work correctly when the page was zoomed in.
  • Fixed an issue where clicking citation numbers in chat wouldn't scroll to the referenced content when website excerpts overlapped.
  • Fixed an issue where citation references were not being preserved when copying content from chat to notes.
